The Ramadiyeh landfill is burning because of recklessness and irresponsibility, and with it hundreds of dunums of forested land and olive and citrus orchards, and it reaches the outskirts of residential neighborhoods in Qana and Hanawey.
The fire destroyed 7,000 forest plants, a continuous effort for a whole year, and material losses within the reforestation project launched by the municipality of Qana in cooperation with the Qana Youth Association.
How long will the random dumps and the recklessness of municipalities continue to treat their waste?
We demand the Ramadi municipality, in the person of its president and esteemed members, to close the landfill adjacent to the towns of Qana and Hanawiyeh, and not to allow reactionary minds to burn the landfill because of the collection of some worthless scrap.
