Qana Youth Association and a group of Qana women participated in training courses on positive interaction and conflict prevention and management, which are conducted by the Mediation Center at Saint Joseph University, with the support of UNIFIL and UN Women. The certificates were distributed to the participants in a ceremony held in the Abbasiya municipality, in the presence of the mayor, Mr. Muhammad Karshet, the mayor of Abbasiya Ali Musa Ezzedine, the head of the western sector of UNIFIL, General Bruno, a number of UNIFIL forces and active figures in the community.
The women will follow the program for a period of two consecutive years to obtain certificates in mediation.
